Kantorei is pleased to welcome its new (and first full-time) executive director, Steve Grupe! Steve brings nearly 25 years of experience and leadership in the performing arts to Kantorei, having held positions at St. Martin’s Chamber Choir, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and Opera Omaha.
As Kantorei’s executive director, Steve will provide organizational leadership and collaborate in forging Kantorei’s strategic future. Additionally, he will act as a driving force in building community relationships and financial support.
A native Nebraskan, Steve holds an undergraduate degree from Concordia University (Nebraska) and pursued studies in choral conducting at the University of Colorado Boulder. His professional career includes high school music education, retail store management, and arts administration. His passions—other than music—include travel, Southwest art, and Nebraska football.
A note from Steve Grupe
It’s an honor to lead the administrative side of this esteemed organization. I also look forward to working with Artistic Director Joel Rinsema as well as the Board and Singers of Kantorei, as we build on the organization’s strengths and enlarge its future vision and reputation.
Welcome to Kantorei’s 2018-2019 season. If you are a returning season or single ticket buyer, welcome back! If you have not yet experienced our great music making, we hope this is the year that you “give us a listen.” I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at a Kantorei concert or event.
