GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE CHARTER

PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Global Engagement Committee is to make a positive, joyful impact on choral organizations outside of the continental United States.  We will achieve this by providing tools and resources that promote the ongoing exchange of musical ideas, interactions, and experiences with choral organizations in underserved and developing communities.

MEMBERSHIP: The Chair of the Global Engagement Committee is a volunteer role, and the Chair appoints further individuals to the Committee who may or may not be on the Board or members of Kantorei. The Committee may be dissolved or ended at a time deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors.

REPORTING

RELATIONSHIP: The Global Engagement Committee reports to the Board of Directors.

STAFF: The Managing Artistic Director and other staff as appropriated by the Committee Chair.

MEETINGS: As necessary to develop and execute annual plans and meet the annual goals of the Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The committee stewards and informs Kantorei’s long term relationship with its partner choral organizations

• Defines if/when/how we want to expand Kantorei’s efforts to other communities and choral organizations

• Recommends to the board, and executes on, the resources and value Kantorei brings to its partner choral organizations

• To define timelines and investments for projects

• Provide training to partner choral organizations on effective organizational development 

• Work with the Managing Artistic Director to incorporate any and all Global Engagement activities into Kantorei’s artistic schedule

• Partner with the development committee to identify and secure new funding sources to support GEC activities
