Scholarship and Classroom Grant

The members of Kantorei are still singing because we were fortunate to have received a solid choral foundation in high school and college.

Kantorei’s vision is that one day every music student in Colorado will have this solid foundation. As one small step toward this vision, we are establishing both an individual scholarship and classroom grant for choral directors, focusing on underserved communities.

The individual $1,000 scholarship is designed to support students of color who intend to pursue the choral arts in college, whether as a music major or a singer in collegiate choral groups. Kantorei will also be supporting underfunded high school choral programs by offering classroom grants to teachers to be used for expenses such as sheet music, uniforms, festival attendance costs, etc.

We would be happy to provide you with more information about how we will be administering the scholarships and grants. We plan to award one scholarship and one classroom grant in the 2022-23 school year and continue to grow the program over time.
