Kantorei opens its 2010-2011 concert season with a collection of contemplative choral works. Polish composer Jozef Swider’s radiant Cantus Gloriosus, intricate and energetic, highlights the evening. Also featured is Requiescat from composer Eric William Barnum. A former composer-in-residence for Kantorei, Barnum sets the Oscar Wilde ‘Requiescat’ text in a beautiful setting for mixed chorus and semi chorus. Kantorei closes the evening with a set of reflective folk songs and spirituals, including Moses Hogan’s Abide With Me and Carol Barnett’s My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord.

Now a holiday tradition in the Denver arts community, Kantorei teams up with the Cherry Creek High School Meistersingers for an evening of holiday choral music. Each group performs selections individually, then join together as one for several familiar holiday carols, including Sleigh Ride, Carol of the Bells, and Peace, Peace. Be sure to get your tickets early -- this concert will sell out quickly!

Kantorei welcomes the holiday season by providing an evening of enchanting and delicate holiday choral music. Herbert Howells’ elegant A Spotless Rose opens a set of three rose-themed works, followed by Robert H. Young’s There is No Rose of Such Virtue and Jan Sandström’s ethereal setting of Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming. Also featured is American composer Morten Lauridsen’s Sure on This Shining Night and audience favorite Jesus, Jesus Rest Your Head from composer Salli Terri. Kantorei invites you and your family to share in the warmth and glory of the season as we bring you an evening of holiday choral music.

Kantorei returns to the popular Augustana Arts Concert Series for a family-friendly choral celebration of the holiday season. In a fun and light-hearted holiday program, Kantorei performs delightful choral music written for the season as well as new arrangements of popular holiday carols. The concert features highlights from Kantorei’s regular holiday concert series “A Spotless Rose,” plus a wide range of traditional holiday favorites, including Carol of the Bells, Sleigh Ride, The Christmas Song, Silent Night, and many more! Bring your family and friends to celebrate with us the joys of the holiday season!

Kantorei makes its second appearance of the season on the popular Augustana Arts Concert Series in a joint performance with the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra. Kantorei opens the program with a preview performance of its National ACDA Conference concert program, including Jozef Swider’s energetic and radiant Cantus Gloriosus. The highlight of the evening, Kantorei joins the Musica Sacra Chamber Orchestra in a performance of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams’ A Serenade to Music. A tranquil and graceful work, Vaughan Williams masterfully sets text from Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice." Also featured is John Rutter’s serene The Lord is My Light and My Salvation.

For the second time in its history, Kantorei is invited to perform for the National American Choral Directors Association Conference in Chicago. Among the most prestigious of all performance opportunities available to American choirs, Kantorei presents to a national audience several 20th-century works, including Polish composer Jozef Swider’s Cantus Gloriosus and James MacMillan’s meditative Dominus dabit benignitatem from his "Strathclyde Motets."

Kantorei completes its 2010-2011 season with an evening of audience-favorite folk songs and spirituals. The Road Home, from composer Stephen Paulus, opens the program with a moving and gentle hymn. An American Folk Medley, arranged by Steve Barnett, highlights the evening with several fun American folk songs featuring intricate harmonies. Kantorei closes the program with several selections from the late Moses Hogan, including You Better Min’ How You Talk, The Battle of Jericho, and This Little Light of Mine.
